Kuwait International Airport is being expanded into an air hub. In 2022, a modern terminal by Foster + Partners was added, offering a high level of comfort and new environmental standards. It is designed to be climate-friendly, inspired by local shapes and materials. The central building with a height of 25 metres and three symmetrical wings forms a giant cloverleaf. The roof protects against heat, lets in daylight and uses photovoltaic panels to generate energy. This creates a pleasant indoor climate despite the extreme outside temperatures.
